So after hours of attempts, I have given up on trying to make Viper4Android run since troubleshooting it requires far, far too much tinkering for my skill levels, or bravery with my brand new phone. The issue was that the driver would never run, so enabling V4A would make no difference to the volume whatsoever.
Right now all I want is to get the standard adaptive sound features of the S7 restored. I have uninstalled the driver through the app, uninstalled the app, renamed the original augio config file, unfrozen adaptive sound and rebooted but now Poweramp says the ROM doesn't support direct volume control, and also enabling UHD upscaling doesn't seem to have any effect on sound quality anymore. What's worse, audio sometimes crashes system-wide, causing music and youtube playback to freeze. Would a factory reset fix this?
